Assembly & Finish

The assembly and finishing of carbon fiber composite parts are crucial steps, as they ensure that the final product meets both functional and aesthetic requirements. Here are the key steps involved in the assembly and finishing of carbon fiber composites:

A combination of Function and Aesthetics

Attention to detail is key and we are very sensitive to the fact that our products may also constitute a piece of art for our customers. Our specially trained teams check each component for any defects, functional or aesthetic, trim the parts, sand rough edges, clean to remove contaminants and prepare the bonding surfaces. Then they focus on the assembly of the components with the appropriate adhesives or bonding materials. In some cases, finishing will also require grinding, polishing, sandblasting or other surface treatments.

Subassemblies – beyond carbon fiber components

Carbon fiber composite products not always come as stand-alone products but are often combined into subassemblies together with non-carbon fiber composites parts. Fasteners and inserts, metallic components, electronic parts are usual add-ons to the carbon fiber composite components. In the course of our assembly and finishing activities, we are always thrilled to integrate other components into a higher- grade subassembly. This may involve drilling holes and installing bolts, nuts, rivets or threaded inserts made of materials compatible with composites such as titanium. We are always very cautious to ensure that the assembly process accounts for precise tolerances and fits.
